Sub trochanteric fractures especially in obese patients gives difficulty for making an entry from the piriformis fossa (Or medial to tip of trochanter). It is quite an easy procedure on a simple table in lateral position. One can see lateral of the hip by cross table lateral or by flexing and abducting the hip( as shown in this demo). This live surgical demonstration of the case was done at Advanced Trauma Workshop conducted at KIMS Medical College in Begaluru. You can hear the voices of Dr. VM Iyer, Dr. N. Rajagopalan as well as Dr Ram Iyer, who were coordinating the discussion from the hall.
